Music: A spoonful of sugar from Mary Poppins

Today I was rudely awoken at 7:45 by the phone. I didn’t get to it in enough time to answer, but THANK GOD they called! Whoever that was just saved my job. Somehow the night before as I was setting my alarm, I had it in my mind that I was working the second shift at the coffee shop this morning, the one I usually work. What I wasn’t thinking about for some reason, even though I had found out just hours earlier that I was working both shifts. So I got ready in 5 minutes, rushed down to the coffeebar, and opened as quickly as I could (at 8 I had everything ready except lightroast coffee). So then I worked both shifts, a little busy, but not bad. At the end I was taking out the trash (the night before, the trash wasn’t taken out) and a hole tore in the bottom and stuff leaked everywhere and so I had to clean that up and then take out the trash which was really really heavy. Sooo…. after that I did stuff that I don’t remember and then went to the library for a while and lunch and class…………then World of Warcraft (blush) I went to supper with Aaron and Jesse. We sat down with Fallon and a couple others and discussed WoW (world of warcraft) among other things. I’ve discovered the joy of connecting with people, I normally wouldn’t, through this game :) After that I went to Opera practice for 3 hours… which was slightly frustrating because the set keeps changing and so blocking keeps changing. PLUS my feet started killing me by the end and now my back really hurts. Then Fallon helped me with a song for voice lessons for about a half hour or so. I just had a good conversation with Meryl and Lina from my floor about religion on campus. And that’s that. Now I’m off to my human sex homework. Here’s something to leave you with that I find exceedingly funny.

Wasn’t that great!

Today I slept in till 11 :) it felt good. Then I visited with my little sis. She invited a friend to join us and this girl was obnoxious and loud, but I tried to be accommodating and not show my annoyance. Sometimes I’m simply appalled at the youth today (now I feel really old) I mean, were we like that? After that Jesse came over for a bit and then Marriage and Family. We talked about dating… which was an interesting discussion. I worked on a group project for a bit after class and then spent 2 hours in the ceramics lab. I made a really awful cup, the parts for a teapot (also not so good), and the dishes for two wall sconces. Then I made enshima (a stiff African porriage used sort of like rice, only eaten with your hands) and had leftovers from the Kenyan meal on Friday. I studied for a while, I think I might have played some WoW, and then Jesse and I studied for the Cultural Anthropology test that’s tomorrow morning. Oh!, and somewhere thrown in there Sol helped me with some of my voice lesson music. I hate the fact that I can’t play piano :( sigh. Anywho, off to bed. Sleep tight everyone.

P.S. have you ever wondered about the things people don’t post…. I wonder….

Music: something playing on Meryl’s computer

So, today. Well, I got up for cultural Anthropology after hitting the snooze 3 times. I still got there before he really started :) During class Eric was tring to give an example of how primates are aware of the “mind sets” of others. In other words, they have a concept of what other primates would think of certain things and actions. His example? That Luke and I were mates and Zeb wanted to mate with me which Luke didn’t like, so Zeb would hide behind a rock to groom me so that Luke wouldn’t see. He had no idea how many nerves he was close to hitting. I thought it was pretty gosh darn funny, plus the fact that he demonstrated “grooming” by petting my shoulder. I like Eric, he’s an interesting one. Then I had lunch at the Fraker, it was really good, I had broccoli cheddar soup and chicken penze or something like that. Then off to work. Followed by ceramics. I made a shallow dish, two tall glasses, and a small cup which I might turn into a mug and mixed clay. After that I said hi over IM to Crystal, who’s in the hopital for what she calls a “tune up” so pray for her if you think about it. Then hurried over to Women’s choir. I love women’s choir, it’s so much fun and I’m singing second alto which is really low. For a little while I played World of Warcraft and then went to supper. I had an interesting conversation about politics with Nick Gingrich (sp?), Darron Sholwalter, and a couple other people. And now it’s now ;) Next I go to opera practice and then I close the coffee shop. Have a good night everyone. Sweetest dreams to you all.
